Actually, they're more like masculine males...just dressed as females. Every other episode has male versions of those characters, that finale was made just as a gag.

So,anyone watched old Mario/Sonic cartoons?i grew with Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog and i watched many episodes of Sonic Satam,but i enjoyed Adventures much more,i love the scene of Sonic and Tails friendship`s being show as family,unfortunately i didn`t saw Tails doing much in Satam,and,well,he`s my favorite character,tough i loved Robotnik`s design and badassness and the different story,of course.Really dark and epic,i was more hooked in watching Courage the Cowardly dog in the morning,as i didn`t have Cartoon Network back then.
