I personally think that Dubstep started becoming very overrating and very popular in the past 2 years. I really don't like listening to it that much. To be honest, I started HATING the fact that wherever I turn on the radio in my car there is always either Gangnam Style or some super greasy Dubstep. And that pretty much made me dislike Dubstep really much. The thing with all these Pop songs becoming suddenly famous also pisses me off. I think musicians need to start using REAL instruments rather than making them up in FL Studio for example. I normally listen to Alternative Rock but that's just my personal taste for music.

i kinda agree with you on the dubstep opinion you have there. for example, i cant STAND like I CANT FUCKING STAND shrilex. he has absolutly NO lelody WHATSOEVER, and he is just sounds and horrible tunes clashing together to make this "music." i especially hate these dubstep remixes too, as i think they make the music more horrible with the extended bass and such. but that is just me. dubstep can be good IF it has some sort of melodic variations to it, and it has some mellow sounds to it, rather than extreme heavy bass sounds.

pop, however, has its benefits. it does require talent, as you need to sing, and some of the songs have some good singers, for example (and probably the best example) Michael Jackson is a true singer as he "composes" songs with a recorder rather than write the lyrics, and makes songs on the spot, which is pretty much pure talent right there.

alternative rock is ok IMO, but i never really listened to one before.

I'm not very happy that my favorite music style, happy hardcore, isn't popular anywhere on this world except for it Holland. The only song that comes close to being happy hardcore that was popular not just around Holland was I think I like it by red blood...

lol holland need to be more open to the popular culture i guess :P

I make way too many typo's on my laptop thingy. -.-
it Holland is supposed to be in Holland of course, and the band is fake blood, not red blood...

laptop thingy?
imguessing that surface tablet thing eh?

I think music sure has evolved... interestingly. I am convinced that the music I usually listen to (goa/psychedelic trance) had its peak in the '90s, though new, progressive artists are also doing whole new things to the genre that I can appreciate.
Whole new styles are developing, thanks to the present technologies, and with that, a whole new audience is born too, which can mean something positive or negative.

As you said, the dubstep culture has become... sad. I know people who only listen dubstep while waiting for the 'drop' and listen nothing else, and listen only for the drop. It's sad to see people like that, but you can't really do anything about it.

Anyway, I like the progressions, even if it brings bad shit with it.

i agree with you on the drop part, i cant stand those things with the SCREEEEECH or EEEEEEEEEK
it makes my ears fucking shit out shit

people who listen for that..... i think they have no taste in music IMO, or they just dont even know what to listen to and are lost souls in the world.

progression is good at times, but only when it is mellow. for example, porter robinson's "language" is a dub step song which has its good and slightly bad sides to it, but it is a great song and should be the example of dubstep. here is the link if you wanna hear:

Also, Kuckstrike; DJ PAUL ELSTAK NONDEJU.

Dubstep and Techno should die from existence.

Long live Jungle & Liquid Drum N Bass and Orchestral.

Orchestral is the only real meaning of melody, and no one can beat it in melody, with tchaikovsky being the real melodic mastermind.

Drum and bass i respect, but i dont like how some songs ONLY focus on that aspect too much, and can make the song sound...... off.

jungle and liquid,...... never heard of it
guessing it is just nature sounds

second was better as it had better rythym and beat to it than the first one.

Liquid Dubstep is one of the few dubstep genres I can actually appreciate with little exceptions.

Porter Robinson - Language is an interesting song. I wouldn't necessarily classify it as dubstep, although it has some elements in it. It's kind of a Trance/Full on/Dubstep hybrid, but mostly trance.

If you'd like, I've got a (pretty good) progressive trance artist: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k7vSKBVHypc

that was a pretty nice song, however, the buildup was WAY to long for me, as i like to get down to the 'real' part of the music.

Yeah Paul Elstak!

But what is liquid dubstep?

Yeah, I love how far we've come :D
But I draw the line at Rap and Dubstep.
I stay locked in Gabber and Splittercore >:D

....oh my god rap....
they cant speak intelligently sometimes?
there are only so few god rappers, like Eminem and such....

I dont really think much about it though.
As a kid, I wasnt really into music.
I became very interested in music through Owl City's music back in '09.
Before that I only heard pop music and stuff through the radio, and didnt really like much of it.
So now hearing this electronic genre's existence I became so interested in music.
So now I just listen to anything related to electronic, classical, lounge, dubstep, and other stuff with no vocals.
Only music I really like with vocals is Owl City, cause a lot of his songs lyrics are just like, uhm, idk the word for it.

vocals i dont listen to anymore, as i think there arent much people who have some decency into music. take Nicky minajh (or however you spell here fucking trash name) she sings horribly and somehow, people like her. so i basically made a conclusion where people cant sing anymore

Liquid dubstep is (if it's done right) kind of D&B together with a few subtle dubstep elements, with soft melodies.

It tends to get repetitive, but it's aight. Nothing on Dj Paul though :P

it does sometimes have its repetitive elements to it, and i cant really bear with that so much.

True, I don't have that much in my music folder. About 6 songs or so, out of around 800 files.

wow.... 800....
where u get these songs?

comedy at its best

Yeah, I agree...
At least there are some some songs today who still has actually good lyrics.
Like this one?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J6n6pIAXe78

actually that is really nice i like it :)
you like that band?

Oh, I've got way, way more songs on my computer and hard disks. Those 800 (I'm counting mixes as ~8 files) are just my favourites.

My dad has collected 10.000 songs from the '60-'80s, which I have as .wav files on a hard disk. It takes over 500gigs of space :P

well fuck....
